Church
How does one convey the message of a community church in a fresh way? Traditional symbols of crosses and doves have lost their meaning by over use. A crown of thorns woven into a heart speaks of an empathy with those who struggle in life, and places the image of Christ at the centre (MUC). Celebratory interwoven ribbons flapping in the wind speak of the trinity, as well as of strength in numbers and a sense of joy in community, as well as referring to the scripture: “a strand of three cannot be easily broken” (RUC). Our experience shows us that re-contextualising conventional symbols often create meaning which is relevant and fresh.
